This past spring, our daily lives were thrown into chaos as the COVID-19 crisis unfolded – first across our screens, then across our communities. At the onset of the crisis, MSOE faculty, staff and students worked together as a community to rapidly move our curriculum online so our students could learn while keeping themselves healthy and safe.
In the weeks to come, our communities will require all of us to come together to fight the virus and care for those who are impacted by it. This includes some of the most vulnerable members of the MSOE community, our students.
In some instances, students lost a part-time job that supported their education. We also learned of additional student needs, funds to having enough money to buy food, housing insecurity, transportation and medical issues. Additionally, some students are facing the unexpected challenge of paying their tuition which threatens to impact their completion of their degree. To respond to the needs of our students, MSOE established the Student Persistence Fund.
Private philanthropy will be a powerful force in the recovery of our university, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and our entire country.
If you are wondering how you can help MSOE in these turbulent times, we invite you to make a gift in support of our incredibly hardworking students. A gift of any size matters. Please consider making a gift today.
