Thank you for supporting Health and Counseling Services during Giving Tuesday.
The physical and mental wellbeing of our students is always one of our top priorities. This year it is even more pressing as we continue to live through a pandemic and the sense of isolation many are feeling, all while managing the normal stress and concerns of college students. By giving today, you are helping to ensure we provide the best possible on-campus support when our students need it the most.
Your gift to Health and Counseling Services will help us continue to enhance our support services by providing:
Basic first aid kits for dorm rooms
Assistance for financially insecure students’ prescription costs, food and personal hygiene items
Fidget toys and stress reduction items
Programming that focuses on Suicide Awareness, Nutrition, Stress Management and more
Outfitting our new exam room with tools such as an automatic blood pressure machine and illuminated magnifier
Help us lighten the burdens on our students shoulders so they can focus on what they came here for—a quality education. The first 25 donors who make a gift to Health and Counseling Services during our Giving Tuesday campaign will receive an MSOE branded face mask as a thank you for their support.
Whether a student is concerned about their sleeping habits, nutrition, a minor injury, illness or needs help managing anxiety, MSOE's Health and Counseling Services is here to serve our students.
At MSOE, we do everything we can to keep our students safe but illness and injuries are always a part of life. Our Health Services Office offers assessment, diagnosis and treatment by a certified nurse practitioner for common health problems students may face. Health Services also acts as a resource by referring to local specialists if needed and providing health and wellness coaching.
Counseling Services offers a confidential space for students to address difficulties they may be facing while pursuing their education goals including study habits, social conflicts, self-esteem, career decision making, stress, anxiety, and other personal concerns. 1 in 3 college students in the United States will struggle with depression while in school. MSOE Counseling Services is here to support our students with healthy and productive coping mechanisms and intervention as needed.
