Our Crowdfunding Groups
Welcome to MSOE’s official crowdfunding platform! Crowdfunding is a powerful tool used to connect our campus with our extended MSOE community of family, friends, alumni, local community members, and others who support our vision.
MSOE is built on the ideals of Collaboration, Excellence, Inclusion, Innovation, Integrity and Stewardship. Through the support of our community, our students, faculty and staff are able to bring these ideals to the next level. They are inspired to dream big and create an environment where everyone is given the opportunity to achieve excellence by pursuing innovative challenges.
Whether they are working towards research projects, team events, service trips, or equipment for their student org, we hope you consider supporting our campus by making a gift to specific projects, departments or programs that inspire you.
We ask you to share our aspirations with your network via email or social media to spread the word. When we work together, we can make incredible things happen in our community.

What is Crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a way to raise funds for a specific project or program that relies on the ability to rally a large group of supporters. Sharing our projects with your network is essential to the success of our campaigns.
Who can use crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is available to current MSOE students, faculty or staff who have been approved to use the platform to solicit gifts for their university-related projects and initiatives.

How do I get my project on MSOE's crowdfunding site?
Once our pilot phase has concluded, all proposed crowdfunding projects must have a completed application from our crowdfunding site. All applications will be reviewed for approval by the Office of University Advancement.
How do I promote my project?
Crowdfunding relies on personal networking—your best supporters love MSOE, but they REALLY love you and your project. You can use your personal, group, department or team email lists, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, LinkedIn groups, etc. to promote your project. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends and family to share your posts to increase your reach!
What happens if a project does not reach its fundraising goal?
Funds raised will be made available to project teams, regardless of whether the project meets its fundraising goal. In the event that a project cannot be completed due to a shortfall, contributions will be retained by the sponsoring department, program or organization to use on a similar project or priority as determined by university leadership. All contributions are gifts to the university and are non-refundable.
What happens if a project exceeds its fundraising goal?
Additional gifts can be used to enhance or expand the project, or be retained by the college, department or program for use on a similar project or priority as determined by university leadership.
Is my donation tax deductible?
All donations made through the crowdfunding platform are processed through the Office of University Advancement at MSOE. Gifts made to MSOE are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law.
Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?
Yes! You will receive a gift acknowledgement and tax receipt from the university.
Can my employer match my gift?
Yes! Many employers have matching gift programs that could double or even triple your gift.
Can I support a Crowdfunding project by mail?
You can certainly support any of our Crowdfunding projects with a mailed in donation, just include the name of the project you wish to support with your check! If you do not want to be listed on our online donor wall, please make a note with your check that you wish to remain anonymous. Checks can be mailed to:
