Support Viets Tower and Spitzer Dining Commons

This summer MSOE will open its first living-learning community, Viets Tower.  The former Roy W. Johnson Residence Hall is being transformed into an innovative space where students will be able to live, work, collaborate, and connect all in one place.

This also gave the university the opportunity to move the main dining facility to the third floor of the Campus Center.  The new Robert Spitzer Dining Commons is open today, providing a place for students to eat and study with friends and faculty and staff.

This entire project is being supported entirely through private gifts from MSOE alumni and friends like you!

Make Your Mark on MSOE!

Chris Feilbach '13 knows the importance of a having a place for students to connect and collaborate. As an alumnus, he lived in RWJ Hall and is excited to see the changes to the space that will provide decades of students a place to call home. Your gift to Viets Tower and Spitzer Dining Commons will be matched by Chris '13, up to $5,000, and your name will be recognized on the building signage.

About Viets Tower and Spitzer Dining Commons

Opened in 2020, the Robert Spitzer Dining Commons was developed as a place for the campus community to connect, engage and collaborate. The third floor of the Campus Center was renovated to become a central hub for all campus activity and named after MSOE's third president Dr. Robert Spitzer.

Construction continues at the Roy W. Johnson Hall site and will open in August 2021 as Hermann Viets Tower. The tower will feature a first floor living learning commons, study spaces on each floor, a café, collaboration spaces, classrooms and more. Named after Hermann Viets, this building is honoring MSOE's fourth president.
