Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management at MSOE

This past year was extraordinary for many reasons. We saw our MSOE Community and the CAECM Department come together in remarkable ways to serve our students amid a once-in-generation pandemic. 

We are grateful our department was able to rely on the generous support of company sponsors and donors. Your gifts make an incredible impact on our department and the students we teach, enabling the department to host student events, classroom and extracurricular activities, and student competitions. 

By becoming a member of our Industry Advisory Board, your gift can also afford your company the opportunity to interact with our students at events such as Career Night, and allows your company to provide input to our programs and curriculum. 

Industrial Advisory Boards

The CAECM department has four unique Industry Advisory Boards (IAB), one for each undergraduate program (Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management) and one for graduate programs.  Board members meet annually and help guide each program’s curriculum to meet today’s industry needs, student recruitment activities, community outreach activities, and professional development opportunities.   Our industry partners are important stakeholders in our department’s programs.

The following describes each level of IAB membership a company may choose.  Each company may name their designee for the IAB, and the company is free to change that person at any time.

The proceeds from the IAB membership fee help fund student activities such as jobsite tours, student competitions, student capstone research projects, and service-learning opportunities.  Any remaining funds are used to help upgrade facilities for the department’s laboratories and classrooms.  

Membership Levels

Platinum Level - $2,500 annually

• One seat on the Industrial Advisory Board of your choice
• Registration for the CAECM Career Night in January (this event sells out every year).   The registration fee is included with your sponsorship and it guarantees your registration.
• Registration for the CAECM Annual Awards Banquet in May (seats for both company representatives and student attendees).  The registration fee is included with your sponsorship.
• Opportunity to hang a company-provided poster in the main hallway of the department (the company designs and provides the poster)
• Opportunity to join MSOE’s “Handshake” portal in order to access resumes of students looking for internships and full-time employment opportunities
• Ability to take part in the CAECM “Speakers Bureau” – an opportunity to present your company’s premier projects to our students in a class or during a special symposium
• Access to CAECM Department newsletters highlighting news and upcoming events

Gold Level - $1,500 annually

• One seat on the Industrial Advisory Board of your choice
