Support the Lemke Excellence in Entrepreneurship Student Award Endowed Fund

About the Award:

The Lemke Excellence in Entrepreneurship Student Award will honor an undergraduate student or early entry master’s student within the CAECM Department who has demonstrated leadership and excellence in university and intercollegiate competitions. Students can be nominated by a part-time or full-time faculty member in the CAECM Department at MSOE. The award selection will be made by a majority vote among the full-time and selected part-time faculty of the CAECM Department. The award will be presented each year at the annual CAECM Awards Banquet.

Background:

Professor Emeritus Robert Lemke '99 has taught and supported MSOE students for more than 20 years and touched the lives of hundreds of students in the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) Department. Around campus, he is known for going above and beyond to mentor students, connect them with industry professionals, provide practical and entrepreneurial experience, and inspire students to push themselves to be the best they can be.

One student, Matt Tadich '06, has had a particularly special mentorship with Lemke through student competitions, internships, and ultimately filling his shoes at Wisconsin Redevelopment and continuing the legacy as a mentor in the MSOE Community.

“We were set up for success because of Bob. He challenged us to make sure we dotted our i’s, crossed our t’s, and were prepared... Bob does what he does for the benefit of students and the community. If you want to learn something, you want a professor like Bob.”  -Matt Tadisch '06

In honor of Professor Emeritus Robert Lemke, Matt Tadisch created an award to support MSOE students in the CAECM Department in perpetuity. When Professor Lemke heard the news, he was humbled and inspired. He has graciously decided to match donations to the newly established Lemke Excellence in Entrepreneurship Student Award Endowed Fund up to $10,000 to support even more students.

How to Support Their Efforts:

The inspiration and positive impact that Professor Lemke has had is not unique to Tadisch's story. Today, we are asking anyone who has been supported by Robert Lemke or Matt Tadisch, or who believes in their mission to encourage CAECM students to pursue their dreams of entrepreneurship, to pay it forward. Join these amazing professors by making a gift today.

Gifts made to the Lemke Excellence in Entrepreneurship Student Award Fund will be matched through May 31st, 2023, up to $10,000.

Don't forget to help us spread the word. Share this page with your network and how they have inspired you to help us maximize the impact of their generosity.
