As every athlete knows, camaraderie and the team environment can make or break a season. An invaluable element of the student athlete experience, especially for Men's Basketball, is our travel opportunities.
The biggest value of these trips is the time spent team building, allowing our athletes to step away from the court and build deeper relationships with their teammates. Over the past 18 years the team has been to Los Angeles, California (twice); Dallas, Texas; Austin, Texas; Norfolk, Virginia; the Dominican Republic and several other destinations. Some of these trips were even coordinated to take place near where we have roster members from. When we can bring a student athlete near his home to introduce the team to his stomping grounds or even introducing their team to their family, it has led to profound alliances. We consistently see a great deal of success in the way of wins over losses following these travel opportunities and always grow tighter and stronger and have had some of our best seasons on trip years.
The Basketball Team Trip Fund is a living and growing fund (sponsored largely through the generous support of friend raising). Our goal is to take biennial trips, ensuring tight team bonds throughout most students' collegiate athletics career.
We want to ask all of our Raider Nation supporters to assist us in providing the best student athlete experience and helping to form the foundation for friendships that will last long past their time on campus.
