This campaign will assist in enabling our officers and general members to continue to advance their skills and achieve opportunities to network with other collegiate and professional members in SWE. The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a student organization at MSOE, as well as an international society. SWE is open to anyone interested in promoting individuals in engineering and other STEM fields, including females and males, engineers and non-engineers. Our mission is to develop students professionally whether that is through leadership/development workshops, networking with companies, or attending our annual regional or society conferences.
WE23 CONFERENCE
We have the opportunity to attend WE23, The World's Largest Conference for Women Engineers and Technologists, October 26th - 28th! This annual conference will be a unique opportunity for us to network with professional and collegiate members while attending a Career Fair with 500+ exhibitors and a multitude of workshops with presentation topics ranging from technical innovations to TED Talks on women's advocacy. Last year we were able to have six officers attend the conference in person. This year we are hoping to have 13 officers and general members, as well as our advisor, attend the conference in person!
Conference registration fees are not covered by the university or any of our annual fundraising events. Registration fees are $135 per student, not including transportation or accommodations – that’s why we need your help! If we could raise $3,000, that would help us greatly to offset the cost and allow our officer board and members to attend the WE23 Conference. Reaching our goal would also enable us to extend the invitation to general members, increasing the impact on our organization.
Our goal of going to the conference is within reach but we need your support! Please help us get there by making a gift to our campaign. No amount is too small, and every gift will assist us in reaching our goal. We can’t wait to share with you what we learned at the convention and keep you updated on our progress until then!
