Support STEM Programs at MSOE

Impact

MSOE’s STEM Center serves nearly 6,000 students annually through a variety of STEM programs ranging from classroom visits to year-long programs. Students come from public, private, charter and homeschool classrooms along with community organizations. Every program at the STEM Center offers full scholarships for those who need them, transportation assistance for schools, and free space to community STEM programs thanks to the ongoing generosity of donors.

Giving to the STEM Center supports many things! Among a few are:

  • Scholarships to high need students and schools for program participation
  • The development of STEM curriculum and activities in subjects including engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics, coding, chemistry and more!
  • 5 community robotics teams that allow any 7th – 12th grade student to participate in competitive robotics free of charge
  • MSOE faculty, students and staff engaging in K-12 outreach through presentations, student organization activities and research
  • School and community center onsite STEM supports such as our FIRST Ambassadors program
  • Annual programs such as the Fluid Power Action Challenge for middle school classrooms, Wisconsin Regional Science Bowl, Girls in STEM Careers Day, and Boy Scout and Girl Scout STEM badge events.
  • Maker Clubs, summer programs and other project-based opportunities for K-12 students

STEM Programs at MSOE

STEM outreach at MSOE creates and supports inclusive, meaningful experiences for all students to explore the possibilities of their future, regardless of where their post-high school journey may take them.

The We Energies STEM Center at MSOE, located at 1444 N. Water St., is Milwaukee’s premier STEM destination for K-12 students. Created in 2020 in partnership with We Energies, Rockwell Automation, American Family Insurance, Scott & Linda Haag, and Northwestern Mutual, the STEM Center enables students from any school—public, private, charter and homeschool—to have access to hands-on, one-of-a-kind STEM experiences.
